# Quickstart

> Get your shop from sign-in to first booking and payment

Use this path the first time you set up MountMonitor. You will sign in, confirm shop details, publish a booking form, and know how money and client texts work.

## Before you begin

You need:

* A MountMonitor account
* Access to [app.mountmonitor.com](https://app.mountmonitor.com)
* Your shop name, address, and price list (even a short starter list is fine)

## Get started

  <Step title="Sign in">
    Open [app.mountmonitor.com](https://app.mountmonitor.com) and sign in. You land on your jobs board.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Confirm shop details">
    Go to **Settings**, then **General**. Check **Taxidermy Business Name**, address, **Timezone**, and **Currency**. Shop currency can only be changed by support. Email [contact@mountmonitor.com](mailto:contact@mountmonitor.com) if it is wrong.

  <Step title="Add mounts and services">
    Open **Settings**, then **Price List**. Add the items clients can book. Set a deposit on an item when you want one (fixed amount or percentage). The booking form uses this list.

  <Step title="Publish your booking form">
    Open **Settings**, then **Bookings**. Set **Your Booking URL Slug**, then **Generate**. Copy the URL or download the QR code. Clients submit work here. Those bookings show as **pending** on your jobs board. They are not charged on the form. See [Bookings](/bookings) and [Deposits](/deposits).

  <Step title="Review a booking and take a payment">
    Open a pending job and choose **Review Booking**. After you accept it, collect the deposit or balance with **Take Payment**. Split one payment across several jobs when someone is paying for more than one job. See [Payments](/payments).

  <Step title="Turn on client texts">
    Open **Settings**, then **Client Portal**. Enable **Automatically SMS clients for new jobs & stage updates** if you want stage texts. See [SMS](/sms).
