# Split a mount into parts or restore it to Whole

> Track separate pieces of a mount and combine the record again when appropriate.

## Planned topics

* Open Mount Parts and add each separately tracked part.
* Choose names and locations for the parts.
* Explain that separate parts replace Whole status and deleting all parts restores Whole.
* Explain that removed or recreated Whole/part records invalidate their old QR tags.
* Print new tags and link to location automation when combining during scanning.
